QuestionI am 34 year4s old with four daughters all deliverd vaginal. And very healthy.
My question is the last time I went to my doctor he told me not to worry about taking the pill because my tubes were blocked with scare tissue and cysts one that was as big as a golf ball.
so I didnt worry about the pill but i lived with the pain that the cyst caused me and now wow I am all most 12 weeks pregnant.
I am worried about this outcome and the pain I still have.
I live in a area where I think they maybe dont know what they are talking about.
I am afraid that this cyst will affect my unborn child please help me understand.
AnswerWhy did the doctor tell you that your tubes were blocked? Ovarian cysts never interfere with a pregnancy and cause no problems during the pregnancy or during the delivery. Since you are, indeed, pregnant, obviously your tubes were not blocked. If the cyst becomes larger than 6cm and causes pain, you may have to have it removed. This is usually not a problem during pregnancy and you can have the operation. HOwever, if the cyst is less than 5cm, I would wait until the baby is born, just to avoid anesthesia. Just take pain medication that is safe for use during pregnancy and have the cyst removed after the baby is born.
