Yolk Sac Halo at 10 Weeks Pregnant: What Does It Mean?

I am 10 wks pregnant and recently visited the doctor. During the visit, the doctor performed a vaginal ultrasound and found a yolk sac halo. This is something I have not heard of and unsure what it is. Could you please help me understand what this is and if there are any concerns I should have.

Was a fetus seen in addition to the yold sac halo? By 10 weeks from the first day of your last period, you should see a fetus, a fetal heartbeatr and a gestational sac on sonogram. If you only see a gestational sac, it may be an abnormal pregnancy or your dates may be incorrect. A halo around a yolk sac is not an ominous sign but the fact that only a yolk sac was seen is. I don't have enough information to give you additional advice. You will have to ask your doctor what is he thinks.
