Pregnancy Insurance & Affordable Healthcare Options
QuestionI am 17 weeks pregnant and have recently moved. I am having trouble getting onto an insurance plan in my new area because I am pregnant and diabetic. I am trying to get on medicaid but have been waiting on that for over a month now. I am starting to worry about the health of my baby and what is going on with him or her. Are there any clinics at least where I can go to get help for a small amount? I have two other children and didn't have this problem with them because my husband was in the Navy.So this is all new to me. Also, would a midwife be able to help without costing as much as a doctor?
Thank you,
Marla Raines
AnswerHello Marla- a midwife is a very possible solution to your problem. Since I have NO idea where you live, you will have to find a midwife on your own. Try contacting the local La Leche League group- they may be able to help you. Or, go to the website for MANA- Midwives of North America- they should be able to help you. All the best- Cheri.
