Understanding Irregular Periods and Early Pregnancy Signs
QuestionI am 25 and have no children. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 7 months and nothing yet. But last month I was 1 week late for my period, which I always get on the same day of the month. It should have come on the 9th and came on the 16th. So, we tried again to get pregnant this month doing it on my ovulation day...now, a week later I am having some spotting. I had very very light blood down there 3 days ago...then the next day nothing...then a little darker 2 days later and now nothing again...Could I be pregnant or is my body just a little off?
AnswerIf your last period started on June 16, you would not have ovulated until June 29. Therefore, you could only have conceived if you had unprotected sex on cycle day #13, 14 15 or 16 (or Ju9ne 28,29,30, and July 1). If you did become pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your period. Good luck. The spotting that you had could have been a period or implantation bleeding. You will have to wait to see what a pregancy test shows if you do not get your period.
