Birth Control & Pregnancy After Interrupted Cycle: What to Do?
QuestionI hate surgery last month on my breast and my surgery happened to be at the very end of my period. So my surgeon told me not to take my b.c. for a week or until she told me to start taking it again. Now, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex probably 2 or 3 times in this time period. Now I'm supposed to have my period again and I'm stressed out about my chances of being pregnant. I've heard that if you stop taking bc you're more likely to become pregnant, is this true?
AnswerHI Layla,
how long have you been on the pill? I would factor in the surgery, stress if you don't have a period this time, and wait for the next cycle to see if you skip, then do a pregnancy test. Let your doctor know in the meantime and use other form of protection and not unprotected incase you are not pregnant, unless you want a baby.
