Delayed Period While on Birth Control: What to Expect
QuestionI've been on the pill for about 3 months. I started my inactive pill on Sunday, it is now Wednesday and still no period. My boyfriend and I have protected sex and he pulls out before he finishes on top of that. The last time we had sex was 2 weeks ago and I've felt fine (although I'm not sure if morning sickness would even start this early).I read somewhere that when you're on B.C. you don't have a real period (this was in reference to taking the kind of B.C. where you have no period). So I was just wondering if it is normal to skip a period when on the pill? Or should I take a pregnancy test, or just wait?
AnswerWell, there is nothing normal about the pill or your cycles while on the pill. Your period will probably start any day now. If it doesn't start in a week, take a pregnancy test. It isn't normal to skip a period if you are taking regular birth control pills. But side effects are common and irregular periods are a side effect.
