Twin Ultrasound Concerns: Understanding Potential Fetal Development Issues

Question
Thanks for your time. My wife is 18 weeks pregnent with twin boys. We had an ultrasound yesterday and discoved that there is no wall between the boys. Our Ob/Gyn explained this situation perfectly. However, we heard the ultrasound tech mention something that shocked me. She said that "something in Baby A was growing backwards towards the stomach." I've tried to figure our what this means, but can't do it. Our Ob/Gyn is out of town now, and were very worried about what this could mean. Do you have any idea, please?
Sincerely,
John and Josie M

Answer
I have no idea what the technician was referring to. Perhaps she was referring to the placenta? At 18 weeks it is difficult to visualize much during the sonogram, other than the size of the babies. You will have to review the sonogram report when it is typed and discuss it with your doctor. Let me know, as well, if you have a chance. Good Luck with the twins.
