QuestionQUESTION: Yesterday I went to the doctor to terminate my pregnancy using the abortion pill. I found out that I was actually pregnant with twins. I was about 5 weeks. I used the abortion pill and today have been bleeding and having a lot of clots. Though this is the case, I'm concerned that because I was pregnant with twins I have more of a chance of the abortion failing. The doctor did not actually have any information on this. Do you know if my chance of the abortion failing is higher? Because I have passed a number of clots do you think that it was successful? It is killing me that I will have to wait 2 weeks to find out. This is an interesting question but I am not very familiar with this. I have looked into it a bit for you and I cant find any information to suggest that the chance of failing is higher with twins.
I think that based on your bleeding and symptoms that the abortion worked but I cannot be one hundred percent.
It is a shame your doctor did not have more information for you as it would frustrating trying to find answers and no one knowing!! Do you have another doctor you could ask?
The only other suggestion I would have is if you know the actual name of the abortion pill you can google it and then contact the company that manufactures it. That would be your best bet for accurate information.

QUESTION: Thanks! I have one more question. I had very heavy bleeding and clotting all morning/evening but it has subsided now and is more like a regular period. I am now again concerned that the abortion was not successful, what do you think?
AnswerThat sounds pretty normal. It varies from person to person. I had two terminations and I actually didnt bleed with one of them, just had brownish discharge but it still worked. I had a bit of a panic attack as I thought I was still pregnant! I am sure you will be fine. It sounds all normal. Good luck :-)
