QuestionI am 19 years old. I do not have any children. The date of my first day of my last period was the 29th of July. I want to know if it is possible to get cramp like pain in my ovaries and uterus if I am pregnant?
AnswerIf you have a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. YOu can ONLY become pregnant if you have sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If your last period started on July 29, you would have ovulated around August 11. You could become pregnant only if you hade sex on August 10,11,12, or 14. If you did become pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your next period. During ovulation, however, it is common to have a cramp like pain on one side of your pelvis or the other. It is sign of ovulation, not pregnancy. Certainly, if you miss your next period (due on August 21), wait seven days and then take a pregnancy test. If you do get your period on time, you are not pregnant.
