I am 32 years old,170 lb, 5'6" (overweight).we don't have kid, married for 6 years, the first 2 years of marriage I used OCP (11 months on ocp +4 months break+ 11 months on ocp)then for 4 years my husband used condom . My period cycle is usually 30-32 days.
We decided to have a baby last month, the first day of my last period was 5/10/04, we start to have sex every other days( 12-13 15-17-19-21-23-25 of October) and as usual I felt ovulation pain on my left side at 10/22/04. Then I thought I am pregnant, my breasts were very painful and large since 10/30 (which I never noticed such pain before period)
I was hungry all the time and got tired soon. I used an at home pregnancy test, although the line was very light, but in instruction was written hormone was detected in my urine.
Also I had some abdominal pain like before period since 11/1 but I asked my sister who is a MD, she told me it can be normal when baby want to go to his place. But she also mentioned it can be also period pain.
Today morning 11/7/04 we had very conservative sex and after that I started bleeding!
I have 2 questions
1- Can sex cause miscarriage?
2- Why I am not pregnant while I had sex during all the possible ovulation period?

Answer1. It has not been proven that sex causes miscarriages but I personally think it can. However, with a miscarriage there is ALOT of pain and ALOT of blood. You would know if you miscarried or not.
2. Sometimes you can bleed during pregnancy. Alot of women go 2-3 months with their periods while still pregnant. It takes awhile to get pregnant sometimes. Look at all these people that have unprotected sex but only have 1 or 2 kids. Don't give up hope to soon. Keep taking test about every 3-4 weeks or so.
