QuestionI had my last menstral cycle on the 29th of oct. start. On the 19th of nov. I started lactating. I have been really emotional and sleeping alot. I feel in my gut that I am pregnant. I had one lost pregnancy and one baby boy. I want to know if it is possible that I am pregnant? If not what would make me lactate and so moody. Please help me.
AnswerIf you have regular 28 day cycles (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. You can only become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If your last period started on October 29, then the earliest that you could have ovulated would have been on November 11 and could have, conceivable, become pregnant if you had sex on Novembere 10,11,12, or 13. If you did become pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your next period. If you do not get your period on November 29, then wait seven days and take a pregnancy test on March 5. The earliest signs of pregnancy are breast tenderness, fatigue, and nausea. It is a bit too early to start lactating (having a milky discharge from the nipples), but if the pregnancy test is negative, and you are, indeed, having a nipple discharge, you have to check your prolactin level to rule out any problems in your pituitary gland. If, on the other hand, you mean only that you have tender breasts, that can be normal in mid cycle. If you believe that you are pregnant, take a pregnancy test on the day I mentioned and you will know for sure. Good luck.
