Early Pregnancy Symptoms: What to Expect in the First Weeks

There are lots of things that support the fact that every woman is different, and this is especially true when it comes to the pregnancy of a woman. This is because no two pregnancies are alike, even that same woman from pregnancy to pregnancy will not have two like pregnancies. The symptoms that a pregnant woman undergoes may not be similar to what another pregnant woman is experiencing.

Earliest Symptoms of Pregnancy - There are some women who say they just "feel" and "know" exactly the moment when they become pregnant. And then there are others who don't know or feel they might be pregnant, some not experiencing recognizable symptoms even up until the point of a very unexpected and surprising delivery of a baby they didn't know they were carrying. Truly, there is a wide assortment of pregnancy signs and symptoms, making it rather difficult for women to use one common, or even a few common signs and symptoms to identify the start of a pregnancy.

Aside from going to the doctor to take a pregnancy test, which is by far the most generally accepted way to establish a pregnancy, understanding the female body and the changes it undergoes while pregnant can help one pick up on subtle clues that might indicate a pregnancy.

For women who have normal menstrual cycles, a missed period is a tattletale sign of pregnancy. But for others with irregular periods, a missed period or a late menstruation is of no concern. Spotting that is associated with implantation of the fertilized egg may resemble a light period, and cause a woman to dismiss the thought of a possible pregnancy. A missed or late period can be the result of many other things including change in diet, medication, stress. Therefore, the lack of a period may be a symptom of early pregnancy for some but not others.

One more common early symptom of pregnancy is the changes in the breasts of the women. The change in the breasts usually shows that there is a change in the system of the body. And this change is related to the bearing of the child within the womb. At the early stage of pregnancy, the first to experience changes is the breast, which is an indication that there is something happening. The breasts would start to become tender and painful, sometimes very sensitive to touch and heavy too. But this is not a solid proof of pregnancy as well, because the changes in the breasts for some women could be the result of reactions to food or medications.

Another common early symptom of the start of pregnancy is the morning sickness which is often exhibited by nausea and vomiting. This sickness is usually triggered when a pregnant woman smell the scent of or taste a certain food which had not been affecting her this way before the pregnancy. Although this usually happens during the morning, after waking up, it also occurs any time of the day. It can sometimes be easily resolved by taking a few saltine crackers and a glass of lukewarm water.

Another symptom of the start of pregnancy is being extremely tired even though the body is used to the regular cycle of work loads and pressures. When a woman becomes pregnant she easily gets tired by doing those activities which she normally does prior to pregnancy. Some women would even resist getting up in the morning, or some would insist taking a nap in the afternoon. Increase in the number of bathroom trips, or experiences of belly cramps, are also some of the signs of early stage of pregnancy. However, just like the other signs, these are not actually identified as symptoms of pregnancy only, since some causes of these could be associated to other health problems and conditions.

Identifying the early stage of pregnancy needs your personal experiences and the other factors related to the changes in the body. To confirm its accuracy and doubtless acceptance, pregnancy test done at home or in a doctor's office is always the best and easiest way. This will help you ensure that the symptoms of missed periods, breast tenderness, nausea, fatigue and other similar things are truly the related to pregnancy and not just the effect of other health concerns.
