Clear Vaginal Discharge in Late Pregnancy: Causes & What to Do

I am 39 weeks pregnant due on Jan. 1st and through out the last month 1/2 I was having a slimmy discharge only in the morning when I woke up and used the bathroom.  I noticed it when I wiped. Now 39 weeks, all in one day I had the same clear, slimmy discharge all day long.  I am worried what it could be?  I am dilated to 2 but have no contractions.  My Dr. says the baby isn't as low as she would like.  With my son I was induced and a week late.  I dilated to 4 when I went in with no contractions ever until I was induced. So I am thinking maybe it will be the same I will just dilate with no contractions. Any advise on if you think I will be giving birth any day and what the slimmy discharge is?

Discharge is perfectly normal during pregnancy especially the later months. Unless you are having any pain/discomfort and/or bleeding, then I don't think you have anything to worry about. Although you might want to mention it to your doctor if you see him/her again soon.  Alot of women dilate up to 3-4 during there 8th and 9th month so early dilation probably isnt something to worry about.  Good Luck!
