Depo Provera Side Effects: Unusual Vaginal Discharge - What to Do

Question
First off I am sorry but this is a little embaressing for me as i have to get pretty graphic to explain my promblem.I had my first depo provera shot on Jan.2 my next shot is due on March26.For about 3 weeks now I have been concerned about the amount of discharge I am having.Everything I have read says that if the shot is going to effect my discharge it would decrease it. I have bever heard of it increasing especially not this much. Right now I am at the point that I have to wear a panty liner and many times throughout the day i have to go to the bathroom and wipe because I can feel there is so much there. When I am sitting down for a period of time as soon as I stand up it's like a gush. It's not a thick discharge actually it's very thin and it's normal in color. Also I don't know if this means anything but the other day when I got up and went to the bathroom the discharge was very dark brwon tinted.then throughout the day it was just kind of pink tinted but you could barely see it.By the end of the day it was back to normal color. I am really concerned about the amount of discharge I am having and was wondering if it's normal or should i get checked. Also another thing for the past 3 or 4 days my breasts have been extremely itchy, like all around the nipple area. It's very annoying as i am constantly having to scratch. If anyone as any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Krista,

The discharge may not be related to the Depoprovera. You should see a gynecologist for an evaluation of the discharge. The nipple itching may or may not be related, but with the Depoprovera beginning to wear off it may be related to the hormone changes.
