QuestionAge 24 - 2 children emlscs delivery (age 4+6)
I am 10 days post laparoscopic sterilisation and retrieval of migrated mirena coil which was located and removed from behind the bowel.
Since my surgery I have experienced constipation followed by a heavy pain/tightening feeling in my abdomen whenever I open my bowels which continues after I have opened my bowels.
I also have a heavy, foul smelling orange vaginal discharge which started about 5 days ago once my post operative vaginal bleeding stopped.
I also have severe tenderness high up in my vagina when I have deep penetration.
I have a follow up appointment with my gynae surgeon on Jan 26th but he said not to attend if I was OK. I feel like I shouldnt attend as he has helped me a lot recently and I don't want to look like a hypocondriac keep coming up with new symptoms.
I suffer from BV quite regularly but never with an orange discharge like I am having now, although it has the same odour.
Would be grateful for your help

AnswerIf you have a foul smelling vaginal discharge and are only 10 days post-op with a cnance that you had a perferation of your uterus (allowing escape of the Mirena coil), you should immediately call your gynecologist and be seen. Get a culture of the discharge and a CBC and workup for peritonitis. It is not something you should ignore.
