QuestionI was supposed to get a call back from my OBGYN yesterday, but never did. I have again called this morning and I was told that she was going to be calling me back today. I have also left a message for my regular dr. and told her about the test and all that has happened. So I hope to get more information soon. Its very hard to know what to do, when the dr.'s don't even know what to tell me. Chatting with you and getting some insight on what I should do is really helping. I'm not going to just sit back when something could be wrong. I do have another question. Will taking blood thinners have any effect on the baby?

It seems very weird on how things are being handled. My dr.'s is supposed to be calling me back this afternoon. They have been calling me to check and see how I'm doing, and had me not work on Friday and this Monday. But I'm back at work today. I work at a computer all day long as a office manager. I'm not taking any blood thinners or anything like that. As of right now no one seems to know what to tell me. I have been back and worth with different nurses over the phone. I just don't know if I should be concern or something that might happen to me.

Hi,
I'm in my 35th week of my pregnancy. Last friday I started having really bad pain in my lower right leg. I went in to the dr.'s and they did a blood test for DVT. It was positive and then I was given two ultrasound. Both came out normal. Should I still be concerned about the positive DVT test. I'm still working full time.
Answer -
HI Jill,
if the test is positive it could still indicate you could form a clot, even tho there is not one present yet by ultrsounds. Are you on blood thinning meds yet? I am really surprised you are still allowed to work. Of course each ob is different and in the area of the country.
Answer -
Hi again,
I would get my records if they don't give you a satisfactory answer this afternoon, and get another opinion. DVT is not something to fool with, even though there are no clots yet. I don't mean to scare, but I would seek out to find an answer before just dismissing it.
Answersure it can affect the baby but in large doses, however when the symptoms outweight the effects of the meds for your health we will give it anyway and watch super closely for problems but most likely will take you off a day or two before to prevent problems with bleeding during the delivery or c/section.
