AnswerIf you have abnormal uterine bleeding (spotting at various times of the month), you most likely have a hormone imbalance (the relationship of Estrogen and Progesterone.) This usually can be resolved by taking Pregesterone (Provera) 10mg twice a day for 10 days. Then, if necessary, you may have to go on birth control pills for a few months in order to regulate your cycle. However, remember, that between the age of 40-50 you can have "Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding" and have irregular periods. Discuss it with your doctor and consider hormonal supplementation.
