Spotting After Stopping Birth Control Pills: What to Expect
Questioni was on the pill only briefly in an effort to have a regular menstrual cycle. i do not ovulate so a pill was not needed to prevent pregnancy. i was on a 21 day pack so on the eigth day of my cycle, i began a new pack, put i only took two pills, because we decided we want to get pregnant. since then, i've been spotting ever since. according to fertiltiy charts, i should be about to ovulate, but as i said before, i almost never ovulate, so could this just be some residual bleeding or could i actually be ovulating?
AnswerWhen was thr first day of your last period? Whether you were on a 28 day pill or a 21 day pill, you should have started on the Sunday following the first day of your period. Ovulation usually occurs 14 days PRIOR to the first day of your peiod. If you ar e trying to conceive, and do not know the exact day of ovulaton, you can purchase an ovulation predictor kit from the pharmacy to try to pinpont the exact day of ovulation. YOu can conceive if you have sex on the day prior to ovulation and up to two days after ovulation. If you are not having regular cycles, you may not be ovulating. You may hve to go on birth control piills for 6 months until your cycles are regular. Then you would stop the pills and start trying to conceive. If you do not have regular periods, it may be much more difficult to conceive and there is no way to tell if you are ovulating or not.
