Understanding Spotting and Ovulation: A Pregnancy Concern

Question
I have a 17 month old daugter and have been ttc since March 2005. I had a m/c Aug 05. Since then i have not concieved but i have been starting periods with dark brown for the first two days followed by red bleeding.  My last period started on Feb 03. which started again with two days of very dark brown spotting my period was suppose to stop on Feb 08 but i have been spotting everyday very brown blood.  My ovulation monitor says i'm ovulating. Is it possible to get pregnant even though i'm spotting?  Why do i have these symptoms?

Answer
It is certainly common to have some spotting around the time of ovulation (Ovulatory bleeding). It does not interfere with ovulation or inhibit conception. If you spot every day until your next period, I would suggest that you be evaluated by your doctor.
