Understanding Intermenstrual Spotting: Causes & What to Do

Question
Hi Karen,

I have been "spotting" now for about 3-4 months with regualar cycling periods, I am 36 years old and am a relatively healthy person.  Aside from going and seeing a professional physician, what might this spotting be about?  Should I be alarmed?  If you have any clue please share.
Thank you,
Jamie

Answer
Dear Jamie,   SPotting between periods is one of the symptoms of cancer, but it could also be that you may have some cysts, STD, etc.....

You MUST see your OB/GYN and get a pap smear and an internal exam....  I say this because if it is cancer, the earlier you diagnose it and treat it the better chance of putting it into remission....

Thank you,   karen
