QuestionI saw your response (pasted below), and I was wondering if I only need to call my doctor if it's bothering me (as in painful)... I have a hard bump on the tip of my cervix (I had my first baby in May, currently have my period..not sure if either of those might be a reason)..and I discovered it about a week ago...I was hoping it would pop and go away, but it's still there, and actually felt like it might be bigger this morning. I wasn't sure if this was something I need to see my doctor about or not...and since today is Sat and they aren't open until Monday morning I was hoping to get some answers on here. Thanks!
Question
I am 28 and have one child (age 5). I have been married for over six years. I just felt a small hard bump on my cervix. I have no pain, bleeding etc... I have regular exams, and have had no abnormal paps. Last one was 03/04. What could it be?
Answer
A bump on your cervix may be a Nabothian cyst (common and benign) or it can merely be an inflammatory nodule (like a pimple). If it bothers you, go back to your gynecologist and let the doctor examine your cervix and tell you what it is and what to do about it.
AnswerIf you are aware of ANY bump that is bothering you (even if it does not hurt), I would suggest that your gynecologist examine you and determine if it is normal or abnormal. Perhaps it can be removed. If it is normal, your doctor will tell you so and you will not have to do anything.
