QuestionDear Beth:
I have primary infertility and have been trying to conceive for three years. I have normal cycles, temperatures, etc., etc. The only abnormality was painful periods (although they have improved over the years). My OB/GYN did a laparoscopy and found "everything looked good" and there was just the tiniest bit of endometriosis - but nothing bad. I was encouraged. However, my uterine wall biopsy came back and states:
"Fibromuscular tissue with hemorrhage and numerous hemosiderin laden macrophages. No glandular tissue identified."
Can you interpret this doctor talk for me. I am in a panic over the fancy words, and my doctor is too busy to answer my questions.
Hope you can help. Thank you!
Anita
AnswerAnita,
I didn't deal with biopsies in my rotations. I understand what was stated. I think that is a normal finding with endometriosis, but I am not sure. If your doctor hasn't called you in for more tests, then I would assume that it was a normal finding and I wouldn't worry. If you have any doubts, then you should call your doctor and have someone at the office explain it to you. You are paying your doctor for a service, and explaining test results to you is part of that service.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help,
Beth
