Understanding Infertility After a Healthy Examination: Next Steps & Support
QuestionI recently has a laparoscopy and dye test investigating why i have not concieved & they found no problem i was told that everything is healthy and so is my partner, however i have been trying for a baby for over 5 years now and i was wondering what will be the next step, i am very maternal and fragile at the moment because of my worries that i may be infertile. i have no problems with my periods if that helps! i am just longing for a baby. i would appreciate any feedback, thank you.
AnswerAfter a woman has been trying for more than a year to conceive a baby, we usually start an infertility workup on her. This includes a hysterosalpingogram (the dye test that you had) to see if her tubes are open, an endometrial biopsy (to see if she is at the correct time of her cycle), a test to see if she does ovulate every month and when, exactly, ovulation takes place, a semenanalysis (to make sure that the male partner has enough sperm), a laparoscopy to see if there are any ovarian cysts or problems such as Poycystic ovarian syndrome, etc. If everything appears normal, it is just a matter of timing. Keep trying.
