Fertility Concerns: Understanding Testing & Trying to Conceive

Question
Hi
thanks for ur reply.Actually we are trying for a kid from

november 2004-march 2005
ocotber 2005-till date

Inbetween my hubby was not with me due to his work.So in first schedule we dont know that there are certain dates to have sex and now only we came to know abt it.So to be clear we were trying for a kid fr past 6 months.

As u told we keep on trying. And can u tell me as what kind of tests they will do me.Bcoz i m little bit scared of these tests. And if some problem occurs is it easy to cure it.I know this question sounds stupid but i am new to this.So i just want to know.

Thanks for ur replies.

Thanks
Ramya

You are apparently having a 26-28 day cycle and probably ovulate on cycle day #12-14 each month. You should concentrate on having sex on cycle daya
#11,12,13,14,15, or 16 each month. If you have been trying to conceive for more than 12 months, you can consult a gynecologist who will start a workup to see why you have not conceived. Until you have been trying for 12 full months, no workup will be done. Keep trying.

Answer
After trying to conceive for 12 months, you can start a fertility workup. The doctor will see if you are ovulating (basal body temperature chart), see if your husband is making enough sperm (semenanalysis), see if your tubes are blocked ( hysterosalpingogram), see if your endometrium is adequate to allow implantation of a fetus (endometrial biopsy), and check for various infections of the vaginas. The tests are not painful and will help to detertmine your status.
