Irregular Periods: Managing Your Cycle & Travel Plans

Question
Thank you very much for your time!
I'm 26, have 2 kids. After the birth/breastfeeding of my second child my menstrual cycle became unpredictable! For few mnths its pretty regular, give take few days and then... Like, last month my period came on the first, and then now this mnth it started on the 15th! I am going away in the beginning of April(on the 1st) I don't want to have my period on vacation, I heard of Norethisterone to postpone menses if starting it 3 days before, but how do I know when to take it if my period is so irregular!
thank you very much for your help

Answer
The only way to delay your period is to continue taking birth control pills. If you are not on birth control pills, I know of no way to delay your period. Usually, you will start taking a new pack right after pill #21 and can continue taking active pills until you want to get your period, at which point merely stop the pills. However, if you are not taking the pills now, Norethendrone will not delay your cycle. If you have an irregular cycle, there is no way to know when your period will start.
