Spotting During Pregnancy: Causes & What to Do

Age:27years third pregnancy due date 15 June 2005.  On thursday night when having a bath - I felt a release and there was thin blood in the bath water  it happened twice, I had regular contractions for around five hours @ three minutes apart.  The hospital said my cervix was still closed and I wasn't in labour.  What caused this blood?  I had asmall amount of blood when I went to the toilet Saturday morning - when I wiped put nothing else since and I am just a little concerned.

At this point, you are probably starting to lose your mucus plug ("bloody show") which can start coming out 4-5 weeks prior to you going into labor. As long as it is not lots of bleeding, you do not have to worry. Certainly, if there is more blood, you should get a sonogram to see from where it comes.
