Questionmay I know what the .7 in 18.7 weeks mean. I was thinking along the lines of 18 weeks seven days, but then wouldn't that mean 19 weeks, or would the next day be 19 weeks?

On May 31, 2006 I had an ultrasound that stated I was 18.7 weeks, the baby was 9oz. and that my due date was October 27. If this is correct then how did I get pregnant only two days after my menstrual period which (I think) was 1-29-06. I originally was given a due date of November 5 or 6th. I did have a different ultrasound done earlier that said I was due October 30. People ask me how far along am I and I am not really sure. Also, on the May 31st ultrasound, we got a really good picture of the babie's genitalia, if that helps.
Answer -
If the sonogram showed you to bbe 18.7 weeks pregnant on May 31, then your last period should have started on January 20 and your due date would be on October 27. If your period started on January 20, you would have ovulated 14 days later, or on February 2 and could have conceived if you had sex on February 1,2,3, or 4. We always count the pregnancy as having started on the first day of your period even though you didn't actually conceive on the first day of your period. If people ask how far you are, count the number of weeks from the first day of your period (January 20), You are now 22 wees, and are stull due on October 27.
AnswerThis is confusing. That is why I always write it out. If you are 18 weeks 7 days, it is really 19 weeks. I don't know their nomenclature. Why don't you call the place that did the sonogram and ask what theu meant. Afew days ahead or behind is not significant.
