Early Pregnancy Symptoms & Light Bleeding: What to Expect
QuestionHello and thank you in advance for your time and expertise!
A little background; we moved mid July, a week later I was due for my period. It was very light basically I spotted for two days. This is not at all normal for me I usually have my cycle every 28 days for 4-5 days with a moderate to heavy flow. I thought that it could be accounted to stress so I did not give it much thought. Well this month I have not yet had my period, so I took a test and I am in fact pregnant. But I am feeling very pregnant, more so that with my other pregnancies although I do tend to develop symptoms early. In fact my husband told me last week he thought I was pregnant. I have been complaining for about a week that I thought I was coming down with some sort of flu. Then my breasts started leaking, leaking a lot. That is when I took the test. So is it likely that I am more pregnant than I am counting on. Or do symptoms tend to show up faster with each pregnancy? (I have 3 chidren and 1 misscarriage) The reason I am a little more concerned is that I don't hav a doctor yet, not even a family practice doctor. I was able to set something up but my first appointment will not be until mid October. Will this be okay if I am further along than I think I am?
Thanks for aking time to answer my questions

AnswerWhen was the first day of your last normal period? It does not matter when you were due for your period, just when you actually had your period. It does not matter if it was only 2 days or lasted for 14 days. You probably conceived around 14 days from the first day of your last normal period. A pregnancy test will not show a positive result untl 14-21 days after conception. If you are more than 2 weeks from the suspected date of conception, take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure. You should see an obstetrician for your first obstetrical visit at 8 weeks from the first day of your last period. Good luck.
