Confused Pregnancy Test Results: Positive Then Negative - What Does It Mean?

Question
I have been feeling tired and my uterus has felt achy and bloated. I didn't miss my last period but it was barely like spotting for 3 or 4 days. I took a pregnancy test, Confirm clearly, a digital refillable test. That test came back positive. I then took an EPT Certainty test that said it was negative. Then I took a Fact Plus test that came back negative. I still feel achy and swollen uterus and I want to know if I should believe the initial positive reading or the later negative ones?

Answer
Hi Andrea,

Usually, you don't get a false positive.  It is much more likely to get a false negative.  I'm not familiar with the brand Confirm Clearly.  But, since you had 2 negatives after that, the best thing you can do is get some blood work done to confirm.  Have your doctor send you for a serum HCG.  This will measure the amount of hormone in your blood. If it below 5, than your pregnancy test is negative.  Good luck!
