AnswerHi Shannon :)
This certainly can be normal. Spotting, during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is not uncommon.
Cramping isnt unusual either. Round ligament pain is very common during pregnancy. The ligaments and tendons surrounding your uterus are expanding to accomodate growing baby. So cramping occurs time to time.
However, you shouldnt be in excrutiating pain. The cramping, should feel like a period cramp.
Perhaps because of your history, it would be wise to have your progesterone levels evaluated. Progesterone, is the hormone that basically keeps you pregnant. It keeps the lining of the uterus intact, and the mucous around the cervix, nice and thick.
If its to low, it can cause a miscarriage. But its easily cured, by taking progersteronen suppliments.
Keep in mind, that if you have severe pain, start to bleed heavy, then you need to get medical attention immediately.
Also, do not lift anything over 5 pounds. (Hard to do when you have a 3 year old, I know) No exsessive excercise, and limit sexual activity. Your pregnancy is young, and fragile, so preventitive measures are good, considering your history.
Kick your feet up, and elevate them when you can ..
Hope this answers your question, and if you have any more concerns, dont hesitate to write back :)
