Early Pregnancy Cramps & Concerns: What to Expect After a Miscarriage

Question
I have 2 children already and last year I experienced a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks (no heartbeat on US and baby measured 6 weeks) that required a D&C.  My LMP was 5/12/06.  I had a positive pregnancy test on 6/9/06.  I am terrified of miscarrying again or having the baby die again without my knowledge.  I have only slightly tender breasts, and occasionally feel nauseous, but don't know if these are imagined symptoms or real.  Last pregnancy I had no symptoms at all beside a positive HPT.  But now I am having some crampiness like a period, and am scared this could indicate a miscarriage.  I remember having some crampiness with my first pregnancy, but none with the second or third.  Is this crampiness normal or could it mean I am going to miscarry?  I wouldn't call the pains sharp or severe or like contractions, just a dull cramping sensation.

Answer
As long as you are not having any bleeding, don't worry. If you want to be sure, take two blood pregnancy test, 48 hours apart (Beta HCG). If there is a doubling of the results in 48 hours, it indicates a viable pregnncy. If there is a halving of the results in 48 hours, it is a miscarriage. If both results are less than 5, you are noit pregnant.
