QuestionHi,
I am currently 5 weeks 5 days pregnant. At 4 weeks 1 day, my gynae did an U/S on me and saw the sac at 4mm. One week later at 5 weeks 1 day, the sac only grew 1mm to 6mm. Is this a normal size for a 5 week old sac? Does it mean the pregnancy is at risk? I am no spotting or cramps. Just very tired and frequent urination. Please help!!!!!!
AnswerDear Tub,
At 5 weeks gestational age, the mean sac diameter would be expected to be 3-9mm.
If the sac is growing, that is a positive sign. The fact that you are not having any cramping or bleeding is another good sign. The tiredness and more frequent urination are pregnancy related.
If your hCG levels are rising appropriately and there are no other symptoms, I would not be worried at this point. In another week or so, you should be able to see heart activity on ultrasound and that should ease your mind further.
I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
