Understanding Ovulation & Pregnancy Chances with PCOS Treatment

Question
Hi. I am 21.5 yrs old, no children. I have pcos and am treated with: metformin & dexamethazone, and now also with clomid and FSH injections. Today my E2 was 2855 pmol/L and my progesterone was 2.9 nmol/L. I have 3 big folliciles: 1 is 22mm*16mm, 1 is 16*12 mm and 1 is 17*14 mm. My lining is almost 9mm. My doctor told me to take 1 more FSH injection tonight, and tomorrow night I'm getting an hCG injection. I would like to ask a couple of questions: 1) The US technician said that the 17*14mm follicile is not round shaped- does that mean anything?
2) I want to take an ultrasound after the hCG (to check if I ovulated) and I would like to know: How many hours after the injection does the ovulation begin? How many hours does the ovulation last?
3) The Ultrasound technician said that I need to come on the day AFTER ovulation to check if I ovulated. Is this precise, or should I go on the day of ovulating?
4) This is my 6th treatment cycle (& my 2nd cycle with FSH injections), so I'm a little worried. I would like to know: what is the chance of getting pregnant (if you know numbers/percents- it will help)?
Thank you very much!

Answer
Usually, you will ovulate 12-24 hours after the HCG injection. The sonogram should show signs of ovulation even if you get there the  following day. (Of course, the ovum will remain viable for 24-48 hours after ovulation). The shape of the follicle is not important. It may merely be due to the angle that the sonographer was aiming his transducer. I really cannot give you any percentage as far as chances of conceiving. If you have ovulated and the sperm are in the area, your chances are good. YOu will have to wait to see if you get your next period or not. I would wait at least until then before taking a pregnancy test, just so you don't get too frustrated. Good Luck to you.
