Large Yolk Sac & Low Heart Rate at 7.5 Weeks: Understanding the Prognosis

Question
I had an embryo transfer on Aug.5 and had a + preg. test on the 14th. U/S and labs have been normal up to this point. They are saying that I am at 7wks and 6days. I had an ultra sound yesterday Sept.4 and was told that the yolk sac was large 5mm and the heart rate was low below 90bpm. We were told that prognosis is very poor.I have had no bleeding or any other signs of miscarrying.  Can you give me some insight or web sites for more info pertaining to my situation. Thank you , Renee

Answer
My experience in this area is not too great. A poor prognosis would be given in this case because the embryo is not forming the way it should be. This does not mean for sure it will fail, but it does, unfortunately, mean it is likely in their eyes. Here are a few links I hope to be helpful.
