Understanding Early Miscarriage: Symptoms, Causes & What to Expect
QuestionI am 11 weeks pregnant. I went into the ER 3 days ago because i was having brown discharge. All thru the testing the doc said everythings fine and its just old blood. The US tech said he/she is to small to pick up movement or heart beat. Then, hours before the results come back (yes hours) the doc comes in and says its early miscarriage. I do not have any family history of it (may not be heriditary but genes do play a part). So, they send me home and told me to go have it removed the next day. Also that id be going thru a pad an hour and severe cramps. Neither happened. The brown comes and goes and is not heavy enough for a pad. sometimes shows in my undies but small in amount. Sometimes its a bit more red but not bright red, still brown. This is my frist pregnancy and i dont have an obgyn. Any thoughts for me?

AnswerMalerie,
My thoughts for you are, that you need an OB doctor. I personally wouldn't rely on an ER doctor to give me a diagnosis like that. If you are not cramping and not bleeding that much, it doesn't sound like you are losing the baby for sure. At 11 weeks, they most definitely should be able to see a baby bouncing around and a heart beat. This is why you need an OB doctor. I wish you luck and hope everything turns out the way you want it to.
