QuestionMy sister just recently became aware that she is pregnant and has been complaining for the last few nights of feeling like she is peeing her pants. This only seems to happen when she is lying down straight. The discharge is clear, and she has to use pads at night. She is afraid that she may be leaking fluids. She has not been to a doctor as her husband cannot afford one. Is she leaking amniotic fluids?
Answer If she is just a few weeks pregnant then it is probably not amniotic fluid.
She may have pressure on her bladder causing her to leak urine.
She needs to be seen by a Dr. no matter if it can be afforded or not, her health is more precious than money.
Most places have free or reduced clinics for pregnant women, look in your phone book under your county then health dept.
If they don't have much money she may be able to get a medical card from the state. That would pay for any appts. she sees even before she has the card.
