Early Pregnancy Concerns: Discrepancy in Dating & Symptoms - Seeking Clarity

ok my (lmp) was December 27,2008 my ob doctor told me i was 5 weeks pregnant i was having pains in my stomach no bleeding and no vomiting when i went to the ER they took my urine and some blood the doctor never gave me an ultra sound but he did tell me that my blood test was low it shows me being only one to two weeks pregnant and the doctor also told me to come back to repeat my blood test in a week i don't understand how my blood says im one to two weeks pregnant if my ob doctor tells me im five weeks can you tell how that possible? and the doctor also told me he don't have any signs of the baby being in my urtius so i might just be to early to see the baby or i might be having a miscarriage or an possible ectopic pregnancy how would the doctor know that if he never took an ultra sound? and what do you think the problem is?

My advise is to seek another live opinion or at least a second appt with your ob. It's been more than a month since this whole story, 27/12...ur pregnancy should be close now to 10 weeks.

some confliction may occur when non specialized doctors talk about pregnancy dating,, for obstetricians, we calcultae it from the first day of last menstrual period..non obstetricians calculate it by calculating how many days ur period is late,,,here it comes the 1 week..

My advise is to have a transvaginal ultrasound to know what is going on.
