Pregnancy Sleep Issues: Causes, Relief & Safe Remedies

Question
I am nearly 8 weeks pregnant. I have not been able to get a good nights rest in over a week. I am up once or twice to urinate. Then, I am tossing and turning all night, waking up every hour. Is there anything I can take to help me sleep? Is Tylenol PM okay?  Thank you for your time

Answer
Hi Cindy,

Anything you take during pregnancy must be okay'd by your doctor. The frequent urination symptom is typical, and there is nothing you can really do to stop that. Tylonol, regular strength is fine in pregnancy. Some doctors even say gravol is okay to help nausea, and sleeplessness. Again, every doctor has a different opinion. I would definately discuss Tylonol PM with your doctor before taking it.

Thanks for writing!
