Postpartum Bleeding: When to Worry & What to Do

I heamorraged badly after having my son 8 wks ago. ive always been anaemic and after birth my bloods were 8.3. i started my 1st period 13 days ago and im stil bleeding. its really heavy, going through pads within an hour. lots and lots of clots too. i feel very weak and light headed and im worried about my anaemia. i saw a doctor last week an he said it was normal after having a baby and gave me the contraceptive pill. i've been taking it 4days but there's no let up in the bleeding.

Since you had a baby only 8 weeks ago, it is highly unlikely that the bleeding which started 13 days ago was a period. Most likely it was a continuation of post-pregnancy bleeding, or lochia. I am concerned about the heaviness, and clotting this many weeks out. Get a second opinion.
