QuestionQUESTION: Okkay i found out i was pregnant at the end of november when i missed my period now the month before in october i had some bleeding which i though was my period untill i got an ultrasound and it placed me around the end of october which i thought was my period? so now does this mean i conceived that month and the bleeding was implantation? and another can sperm live threw menstrual bleeding
ANSWER: Dear Michelle,
It is not possible for sperm to live through menstrual bleeding. Sperm can live for up to five days. A woman usually ovulates (puts out an egg) a few days after menstruation. That would be too long for a sperm to live in order to fertilize that egg.
It's not clear from your question - when you say they 'placed you', did they mean they placed your period or they placed your date of conception?
It is possible the bleeding was implantation.
If you would like to clarify that part of your question, please feel free to write again.
Best of luck,

QUESTION: Okay what i meant was when they placed me when i got an ultrasound it said i was 13wks and 5days when i counted that back on my calendar it put me around the end of october when i thought my period was... so i asked about when i conceived she got a wheel and said your lmp was october 24th and you conceived around nov 7th but thats just a guess... but it confused me for the ultrasound too put me around that day also if i didnt remember my lmp so thats why i was wondering if october period was implantation bleeding?
ANSWER: Dear Michelle,
Usually implantation bleeding is very light, only a bit of spotting. It is not usually as heavy as a period. So if the bleeding you had was like a regular period, it probably was.
LMP stands for last menstrual period. If they said your LMP was October 24th, that means that it was a period at the end of October, not implantation bleeding.
So at this point you are almost due to have your baby, right?
Good luck, then!

AnswerDear Michelle,
It sounds like the guy from November is the father, although a paternity test would be the only way to know for sure.
If you did get pregnant around the end of October, your LMP would have been early- to mid- October, not in September.
A due date is just an estimate for when your baby will be born. It is not cut in stone, it is more of an approximate date, plus/minus two weeks. Your baby is considered full term if it is born anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Before 37 weeks would be called pre-term, and after 42 weeks it would be considered post-dates. It is still safe for you and the baby if the baby is born outside that range of weeks, but you may need more supervision during labor and delivery.
(I would pick August 5th, so that you don't have doctors and family members breathing down your back, impatient for your baby to come.)
Best of luck,
