Post-D&C Bleeding and Itching: Understanding Your Symptoms

Hi,i had d&c on 28/05/2012 at a clinic in Nigeria,bleed for like 2days and all was normal.
Exactly a week after i began to bleed which was mainly clots. now,i have been spotting (dark stains) and having slight vaginal itching.
please,what is happening to me and what can i do? Am scared!

Bleeding can be on off for several weeks after your procedure. Not ALL of the uterine lining was removed during the d&c, so your uterus us still pushing it out, and it's coming out dark because it's already been exposed to air. If you start bleeding heavily, or there is weird discharge or a bad smell, it's best to see a doctor as soon as possible. But your bleeding may vary for the next couple of weeks, and that's normal :)

The itching may be a yeast infection, especially if you took antibiotics. You can either wait until the bleeding is done to see if it goes away, or try a home remedy, like inserting plain, unsweetened yogurt, or a clove of garlic for 12 hours.
