AnswerPlease note this information is not intended to substitute for medical advice. Only your doctor can interpret the results as part of a clinical evaluation.
You mention you have a very high WBC count with high segs but since no specific lab values are provided, regarding the urgency of the situation, I cannot comment on this since critical values are evaluated by the results of specific lab values for specific lab tests on a patient. In general, though a high neutrophil count is indicative of a bacterial infection.
Do you have a fever or otherwise feel ill? If so, if it were me, I would see another doctor if I felt ill and my regular doctor was on vacation. FYI you can request a copy of your medical records including your lab results from your regular physician's office since legally your medical records belong to you, or you can request that your doctor's office provide the substitute doctor with your medical records to enable you to be evaluated by another physician while your regular doctor is on vacation.
FYI, typically, a single doctor in private practice does have a backup doctor on call for emergencies.
