Understanding High-Grade Cervical Lesions & Fertility

Question
Hello, I just went to the doctors and got a annual pap smear, and they have always been normal, but this time the doctor called back and said It shows it being high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL). Im scared, I tryed to find some stuff on here about it, but I dont know how much this is going to affect me having a baby. Im not pregnant now, but my husband and me want a baby. Is there a chance that it could already be cancer? even tho I have always had normal ones? Help

Thank you,
Nicole

Answer
Dear Nicole,

Thank you for writing me I will try to help you out if I can with my limited medical knowledge. As much as I am understanding by what you have told me I do not believe that you are in immediate danger of having cancer. I would suggest that you ask your doctor to fully  help you understand what they meant by high-grade squeamish intraepithelial lesion? And do not be afraid to ask the doctor how this will affect you and your husband chances of having a baby. I think you are ok but just ask your doctor and take your husband along if he will go so he can understand what is going on as well.

God Bless
