QuestionI'm a 50 year old female who has had a 5-6 year history of low wbc (2005 4.0, 2007 3.8, Feb 2010 3.7, June 2010 3.5) The only other abnormal readings were bun 24,carbon dioxide 33. Feel fine, very active. Any ideas?
AnswerHi Deb. Your WBC count is only slightly lower than the normal range. And as long as you're generally healthy and are not getting frequent infections, I would say that your WBC count is okay. This may just be "normal" for you. The other two values you mentioned (BUN and carbon dioxide) are only slightly high and are unlikely to be of any clinical significance. Hope this helps!
