Questionhello doctor,
i am 27 years old.and my husband and i have been trying to conceive for the last 2 years.i have been diagonised with endometriosis grade-1.my husbands reports are normal.we have tried 3 cycles of IUI the last of which was sucessful but ended in a misscariage.that was around 6 months ago.since then i have not taken any medicines or treatments.
my question is that, this month i had my period but it was just 3 days long instead of my normal 7-8 days.light bleeding.and since it has ended i have constant headaches, lower back pain, lower abdominal pain on and off,and nausea again on and off.what could be the reason for this in your opinion?is there a chance of pregnancy?or is there some other problem?.
i took a HPT yesterday and it was negative.please advice.
thank you for your time

Dr. Ramirez
Hello,
There certainly is the possibility of a pregnancy with the symptoms that you have. Light bleeding is very common in early pregnancy. For that reason, you would want to have a blood pregnancy test done. If that is negative, which rules out a pregnancy, then you should see your doctor for an examination. There could be other problems going one that are not related to the endometriosis.
In terms of your fertility, the fact that you got pregnant with IUI, despite the miscarriage is a confirmation that you can get pregnant. I would continue with another round of IUI's (up to four). Bottom line is keep trying.
