QuestionHello, I have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months. I am using OVP but am confused by the results. I have been testing in the early morning (I just read that is not a good time) and late afternoon. For the past 3 days I have gotten a positive result when I tested around 7:30 am and a negative result each evening around 5pm. Has the morning testing been too early and so it may be invalid? I have been using 2 different testing types (same brand) in the am (urine collection in a cup) & pm (urination directly on stick). Before these 3 days I just tested in morning and received negative results. The positive results have been on days 12, 13 & 14 of my cycle. Is it likely that I have or have not ovulated? What do you suppose would be the cause of the different results? Thank you so much for you time. I live in Sonoma County, CA
AnswerHello Heather from the U.S.,
You know, I can't answer your question. There is no physiological reason for this. That is a question for the manufacturer of the test. There should not be a discrepancy based on the time of day, as you have described. You are either getting a false negative in the morning or a false positive in the evening. Tests should be more accurate than that. Check out the manufacturer's website, I'm sure they have a customer service option. Besides, if the kit is not working correctly, you should either get your money back or they should replace the kits with new ones.
