QuestionQUESTION: in your experience in a singleton pg. would a beta level of 923 and the next day 1500.. be more of a level of 17/18 dpo or 11/12 dpo... i know it takes at least 9 days to implant.. and do the number start out that high or do they start off rather low?
thanks so much
tara from usa
ANSWER: Hello Tara from the U.S.,
One cannot predict the outcome of a pregnancy based on bHCG results unless the bHCG is decreasing or staying flat. It is expected that the bHCG will increase by 80% every 48hrs as a rule of thumb but this is NOT exact. The exact number can depend on many things including how soon after embryo transfer. In my office, we check the first bHCG at 8 days post transfer and in some cases the first level can be as low as 14. So try not to interpret too much with this information. You are pregnant! Delight in that first major step and hope for the best. It is in God's hands now.

i know the level dont start out that high. and implantation has to occur before it is even detecable right?
its also a singleton...
AnswerHi Again,
Dating cannot be done by bHCG levels. It is only reliable by ultrasound and a first trimester ultrasound is the best time for dating a pregnancy.
