Question-Well I did look up the site mentioned but it was not in English however did a search through Google re sphincter dysfuntion and found information on a Hopkins university site, http://www.hopkins-gi.org. As far as a stone I had an ultrasound of kindney and as her results showed that I had a gall bladder surgery because of the clips, I guess I think I can rule out a stone.
But if it possibly the other from what I read if it is muscle spasm or failure to relax may I ask how it is detected?
I should also note that on your original reply it was received four times for some reason.

Question -
I had gall bladder removed in September 2002. Laately I find that on occassion I have what almost feels like a minor gall bladder attack. Also at moment going through a minor atack of diverticulus.
According to family physician it is not uncommon to have post gall bladder problems even after this time period and the diverticulus is related to that.
I have to eat more fiber and roughage for the diverticulus but is this increasing my symptoms of a false gallbladder attack.
Or is this just a coincidence?
Answer -
dear sir:
if your colics resemble what you had before cholecystectomy your doctor should rule out choledocholithiasis (stone in the major bile duct); if that is ruled out, sphincter of oddi dysfunction should be considered. this is the muscle closing the bile duct where it enters the intestine - if it does not relax properly it can give rise to biliary colic. for further details see http://www.ikp.unibe.ch/lab2/SOD.htm

Answerdear sir:
cut and paste the url into your browser (highlight the url <ctr>c - go to browser <ctr>v - the page i referred you to is in english. http://www.ikp.unibe.ch/lab2/SOD.htm
and ultrasound does not rule out a stone in the common bile duct - which is what i was talking about - not kidney stones.
