Hello Dr.Aukerman! This is my first timeto really ask about this but I am concerned for my duaghter. This past yearshe started Kindergarden and we had problems from the get go. Sydney my duaghter is not behaving like a normal child.
For instance when get in trouble at school there is no talking to her it is like she is in her own little world and until she calms down she will not listen nor hear you. She throws fits when not getting her way and trying to explain to her the reason she isn't getting her way is hopeless. We have actually been told she has to be put in a room by herself to calm down and has also been seen siting under a desk rocking back and forth. Her behevior at home is the same if she gets in trouble she is sent to her room and we give her time to settle down and then we try and explain what she has done wrong and what we expect of her. It is like we are talking to a wall. If you aske her what we have said she will tell you she doen't know and you can break it down into a few words and she will stillnot know what she was told! The princple at her school said off the record that she seems to think it might be a mild case of autism. She has problems with understand reason. Could you give me some website to reseach on this PDD I believe is what she called it.

Below is a good reliable web page. Have you talked with your doctor about supplementing her diet with liquid omega 3 fish oil in pretty good doses? Is she on high dose B vitamins also?

Answer
Just remember our food sources are not as complete anymore so we all need to be on a multivitamin, B complex, magnesium and omega 3. When children are nutrient deficient they act similar to this and because they have not life experience they can not communicate exactly how they feel or you would have known.
Nordic Naturals makes a great tasting lemon liquid fish oil and someone else makes a tangerine mousse brand. OK?
