Understanding Albumin Levels in Blood Tests: Causes & Implications

Hi Doctor Aukerman,
I had high cholesterol and took lipitor for more than a month. The new blood test showed my cholesterol level was down. It also showed my ALBUMIN level in the "out of range" column. I wonder if lipitor could cause that? and what is the meaning of ALBUMIN level, what problem can it cause when it is out of range?

and what is the meaning of ALBUMIN level, what problem can it cause when it is out of range? this could indicate infection or actual nephritis of your kidney assuming you are not diabetic.
Maybe you should call your doctor to see what they want to do to check it out. OK?
